Miriam Cecilia is honestly such a favorite Chicago Designer of mine!!! Her collection was on display this afternoon at the Lovely Drake hotel during afternoon tea service. As soon as I walked in I could not wait to see the bevy of beautiful dresses and gowns! And Shortly after walking in I got to see the lovely Miriam Cecelia of course in one of her beautiful dresses! And what a sweet surprise to met her beautiful mom who was so kind. ♥
Her mom taught her how to sew at a very young age and Cecilia admits she didn't like it then but today she has apologized to her mom for giving her such a hard time about what is now her love affair of designing for her label: Miriam Cecilia Couture!!!
After ordering Hot Chocolate to go with our tea service ...
the dresses and gowns started to pour in...
As I was sitting down at the tea service I realized that I was missing the models as they came in and wanted to get a better look--- so I went to the grand entryway to make sure I got a good look at the amazing designs...
After some fun photos and as I was sitting I noticed a model from the Horacio Nieto Show she always looks so graceful and poised. Then can you believe she thought I meant I was a model for his show what a compliment...right!---She obviously couldn't"t see that I was only 5"3-what a sweet gal!!!
What I love most and appears to be a common theme in designs I love, is that all must come from a place of deep romanticism. It is a form of Art. Her Spring/Summer Collection is inspired from nature. Miriam herself is an artist in writing as well on her website she has a blog which she shares pictures of nature and just thoughts and surroundings that inspire her.
Her designs are definitely unlike anything Ive ever seen...the dress I own which is titled The Split is such a unique piece of art...the ruching on the sleeve...then the small gathering at the waist...and finally the raw edges across the neckline...truly ethereal
I am total anticipation of her upcoming fall 2011 line which as long as it is inspired from a place of deep profound Romanticism then it will be nothing less than Bliss...Visit this truly Magnificent artist at:
