C.Chic: Tell us more about The G.I.A. Luxe Brand?
Sheetal Patel: G.I.A. Luxe is a "Young Luxe" brand, for a younger woman wanting a designer handbag without having to pay a high fashion, luxury price point. All handbags are made here in the U.S.A., which definitely sets the brand apart from the market. The G.I.A. Luxe can in turn focus on quality and has even introduced the choice for the client to have their own custom handbag. To top it off, turn around is quick.
C.Chic: What inspired you to create your own brand? Has this always been a lifelong passion of yours?
Sheetal Patel: At age thirteen my father up rooted me from London to the Middle East and then two years later we immigrated to The States so my father could finally get the chance to live his "American Dream" by owning hotels. My father has always been ambitious, never settling and so of course being exposed to such an entrepreneurial man I too caught the 'fever.' Fashion has always been my love. Being raised in London, it was only natural that I ended up in this field. I wouldn't want it any other way. Being happy in your career is important to me.
C.Chic: Are G.I.A. Luxe designs all locally made here in Chicago or the US?
Sheetal Patel: All designs are produced locally here in Chicago, which helps in a quick turn around and a careful look at quality control.
C.Chic: How has being a mommy inspired you?
Sheetal Patel: My gorgeous Gia keeps me on my toes everyday and so naturally I'm always inspired. She is not only an inspiration, but a source of motivation. As one can imagine life is hectic and when I feel I cannot do it anymore, I look at her and she pushes me to work harder. My goal is to leave her something that she can be proud of. To leave her a brand knowing that it literally begun from the ground up. With no helping hands or favors, just pure hard work and ambition.

I'm a huge fan of Dubai, to anyone who has not been to this city tucked away in the south of the Persian Gulf, make it a must in your travels!
