The FASHION takes FLIGHT show last night was one not to be missed. This exquisite runway show featured the collections of local designers Imaginary People, J. Cheikh, Atelier Azza, Shelby Steiner and C. Dahlstedt. And let’s just say that this talented group of individuals did not disappoint.
Each designers collection showcased their attention to detail, personality, and a distinct sexiness that puts these fabulous designers in a class all their own. I loved the long flowy dresses and zippered jumpsuits given to us by
Imaginary People;
Imaginary People;
The sheath dresses and tulip hems that sautéed down the runway by C. Dahlstedt;
The tailored to perfection suits and “eye candy” that
J. Cheikh provided us with;
The elegant yet playful jewel tone gowns and beautifully crafted beaded blazers from Atelier Azza;
And last but certainly not least the edgy sheer maxi skirts paired with leather crop tops by
Shelby Steiner.
Shelby Steiner.
In all, I was completely blown away by the level of talent and creativity provided by each designer’s collection. Another highlight of the night is that this show served as the fifth annual “Mario, Make Me a Model” contest in which Mario Tricoci himself hand selected aspiring models who were then given runway worthy makeovers, sent on a series of photo shoots, and even given modeling classes for the end result of landing a modeling contract with Factor Models, an exotic vacation for two and a one year’s supply of cosmetics and Vitamin Water. And the lucky winner of this fabulous contest was Caroline Mazurek.
